JANESVILLE — Cpt. Brent DeRemer of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office has retired after 32 years of service, Sheriff Curt Fell announced Wednesday.

DeRemer began his career as a correctional officer in June 1990, and became a deputy sheriff in June 1993. He was promoted to sergeant in February 1998 and captain in January 2011.

Throughout his career, DeRemer worked for six sheriffs in a variety of assignments.

He concluded his career as the leader of the Community Corrections Bureau.
