JANESVILLE — Gov. Tony Evers on Sunday spent time surveying damage from a tornado last night, including visiting with affected residents in Janesville and the Town of Rock.

“Incredibly grateful for the first responders, neighbors, and many others showing up to help support each other, as Wisconsinites always do,” Evers said.

The EF-1 tornado hit Janesville’s south side at approximately 8.p.m. Saturday.

As emergency units arrived in the area, they verified damage ranging from minor to significant and encountered debris closing roadways.

Damage to power infrastructure caused outages on the southside of the City of Janesville and in the Town of Rock.

No injuries have been reported, accoelrding to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

The affected area in Janesville is currently closed to outside traffic.

In addition to the Janesville tornado, two EF-1 tornadoes touched down in Walworth County.
