JANSVILLE — Kay Deupree, a former member of the Janesville City Council and active community leader, passed away June 3, 2024.

Deupree was known as an inspirational community leader in Janesville and longtime member of the League of Women Voters, often moderating Janesville School Board and City Council candidate debates.

She served on the Janesville City Council in 2015 and 2016 as well as being involved in numerous community initiatives through the years with her husband, Neil.

According to a 2023 interview published by Janesville Area Stories, Deupree’s accomplishments also included:

Former Janesville City Council Member
Former President of the Janesville League of Women Voters
YWCA Women of Distinction Recipient – 2012

LWVWI Meg McLane Award for Advocacy – 2019
