JANESVILLE — One of Janesville’s busiest intersections has a new neighbor with the opening this week of Chili’s Grill and Bar.
The restaurant opened Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 14 and Milton Avenue on Janesville’s northeast side.
Forward Janesville held a ribbon cutting celebration and shared photos on social media.
The property had been vacant since the abrupt closure in 2021 of the Perkins restaurant.
The restaurant chain is known for Tex-Mex food, baby back ribs and recognizable chili pepper logo.
The opening comes after several major development projects along the busy commercial corridor.
A new Hy-Vee grocery store opened in the former ShopKo building shortly after a major reconstruction project of Highway 14 wrapped up.
Chili’s closest other location is in Delavan.
