BELOIT — A tornado was on the ground in Beloit for roughly 8 minutes Friday evening, the National Weather Service reported Saturday.

Two others touched down nearby in Walworth County.

The tornado touched down about 7:45 p.m. near Park and Milwaukee on Beloit’s east side.

It then traveled northeast just north of Turtle Creek before ending just east of the Interstate.

All three tornados were rated as high end EF-0 with estimated peak winds of 80 m.p.h.

There were no injuries, according to the weather service.

The first tornado to reach Walworth County touched down about 8 p.m. on the east side of the village of Sharon.

It traveled northeast about 11 miles, passing just west of the village of Walworth before losing steam over Delavan Lake near Lake Lake Resort.

Then at 8:10 p.m., a second tornado touched down on the north end of Geneva National in Geneva Township.

It traveled 6 miles straight north, clipping the east side of Elkhorn before winding down over Evergreen Golf Club.

Early observers reported buildings damaged near Sharon, and Highway 120 was closed because of downed power lines.
