JANESVILLE — A search for suspects in a Beloit shots-fired case led to a chase and standoff Friday in downtown Janesville.
Police issued a news release Friday evening about the incident, however it was unclear if any arrests were made.
It all began about 2:20 p.m. Friday when two Janesville police officers saw a vehicle at the intersection of S. Main St and E. Racine St. that they suspected had been involved in a shots fired incident in Beloit.
The officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but they say it fled leading them on a short pursuit.
The officers lost sight of the vehicle until a Rock County Deputy located the vehicle a short time later in the 600 Blk of S. Main St.
Officers learned the suspects may be inside the residence and surrounded the house.
Main Street was closed for several hours.
Five different people exited the residence after commands were given over a PA system, police said in a news release.
At this time this is still an ongoing investigation by the Beloit Police Department and Janesville Police Department.
The Janesville Police Department was assisted by Beloit Police Detectives, Rock County Deputies, Janesville Fire Department and Rock County K9 Kamo.
