JANESVILLE — Janesville Parker’s tradition of wrestling excellence continues this season with a stand-out member of the girls team wrestling Thursday in the WIAA state girls wrestling tournament in Madison.

Victoria-Anna Kampamn, a junior, advanced to the state tournament after placing second to Cameran Jansen of Badger High School at Saturday’s sectional at Burlington High School.

The 145 pound girls’ session begins at 3 p.m. at Kohl Center on the UW-Madison campus, with Kampamn (6-2) facing Hailie Krueger (25-1) of New London.

Kampamn will have company in Madison.

Junior Cayden Brandenburg of Parker won his sectional match at 160 pounds to advance to the state tournament.

Brandenburg, 48-3, faces Junior Jackson Hughes, 38-11, of Onalaska/Luther when the 160 matches begin at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament runs Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 23-25, 2023 at the Kohl Center, UW-Madison.

SESSION 1 – Thursday, Feb. 23 – Eight Mats
Div. 1 & Girls Preliminaries – 3 p.m. (Doors open at 2 p.m.) – Weigh-in at 1:30 p.m.
            (Div. 1 on mats 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8; Girls on mats 4 & 6)
Div. 1 Quarterfinals – Approximately 5:15 p.m.
Div. 2 & 3 Preliminaries, Girls Quarterfinals – 7 p.m. – Div. 2 & Div. 3 Weigh-in at 5 p.m.

Div. 1 & Girls Consolations – 10 a.m. (Doors open at 9 a.m.)

Div. 1  and Girls Weigh-Ins: 8:30 a.m. / Div. 2-3 Weigh-Ins at 9 a.m.

Fifth-place and third-place matches will run concurrently by weight class following all consolation matches.
